Found this guy while walking the dog today. I didn’t have the good camera and the crappy camera was having trouble telling all the greens apart, so I had him climb my hand. As you can tell, he was really really thrilled. He didn’t like this one because it makes him look fat. [...] Ah, small towns. This was taken in Center City, Minnesota. I thought it was a bit odd, but then I noticed that this guy was right next door. Yup, just what it says on the tin. I know I already have a pretty nice picture of this one flower here, but hey, I like it. So here’s a few more I got today. In honour of World Turtle Day, and because I luckily stumbled on him while walking the dog, here is a photo of a painted turtle: I know that doesn’t look very painted, but this is what they look like from the bottom: There are tons of these guys at the park we walk [...] I had a different photo planned for Gigi’s 9th birthday, but sadly we had no sun that day. So I snapped this on my phone. I tried taking the original Gigi’s Birthday photo today but somehow managed to shoot a ton of out of focus pictures. Mrrrrrrrrr. I’m blaming the insane wind. [...] We had a crazy amount of snow this past winter (yes, past winter. I insist!). This is after several years of hardly any rain or snow. Enough that all the lakes got really low and kind of disgusting. The lake where I walk the dog has a water level meter thinggie. This is a [...] While taking the swan pics I posted earlier (as in, 30 seconds ago) I got this nice shot of lens flare a red-winged blackbird, which is one of my favourite birds. I’ve been seeing these swans around here for a while now. Never when I have the camera, naturally. One time I rushed home and got the camera but by the time I got back, they were gone. Apparently they can fly away or something. I was starting to think that maybe I was imagining them. [...] I started about 40 tomato plants in a mini-greenhouse in my basement. This one is a Black Cherry. |
